Disha Lulla

Hi! I am Disha Lulla and I am a Contour Fashion student at DeMontfort University specialising in Lingerie & Nightwear design. I was in London interning and I suddenly had to go back to India due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
From when I boarded my flight at London Heathrow to when I landed in India, one thing was significant – the usage and disposal of the single use 3-PLY masks. After a while, I saw delivery boys and lots of people wearing handkerchiefs as a mask instead of a proper mask due to the high prices and low stock. I decided I could put my sewing skills to use and make reusable cotton masks which I can donate and are also better for the environment. Till date I have donated about 1,500 masks to various NGO’s and people along with supplies such as infrared thermometers, sanitisers, sanitising machine, 8,000 tablets of vitamin c, 10,000 ORS pouches, and masks to the Indore police Department.
All this lead to me launching my brand of masks and more. Where part of profits go towards charity and i also donate a tree for every 25 masks sold. I have been featured on BBC News & BBC Radio along with my university social media channels. I am very grateful for all the response I’ve been getting & this inspires me to do more for the society.
