Spiced Chai Shortbread

Add a touch of Tea India® to your Christmas shortbread with our delicious Spiced Chai Shortbread recipe.

Ingredients

For the shortbread:

  • 35g softened butter
  • 35g caster sugar
  • 125g plain flour
  • 1 tsp all-spice
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp milk

For spiced Chai sugar:

  • 2 Tea India® Masala Chai tea bags
  • 4 tbsp demerara sugar
  • 4 tbsp milk

How to Make

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. To make the spiced Chai sugar, remove the leaves from 2 Tea India® Masala Chai tea bags and place in a food processor with the demerara sugar and blitz. Place in a bowl and set to one side.
  3. To make the shortbread, cream the butter and sugar in a large bowl. Add the flour, spices, black pepper and milk, and mix to form a stiff dough. Wrap in cling film and chill for 10 minutes.
